The launch of Home Selangor 2021 jersey on Monday has created its own history when it has managed to attract more than 6,300 live views when it was launched online on the Selangor FC (SFC) Facebook platform.
 
Unlike previous years, the COVID-19 pandemic has forced SFC not to host the Hari Bola Sepak Selangor (Selangor Football Day) which takes place every year. Previously, Hari Bola Sepak Selangor was a day where team jerseys will be introduced to the public, in addition to the player introduction ceremony and town hall session with the supporters
 
Being the first team in Malaysia to launch a jersey to face the 2021 season, SFC has received various positive responses from Selangor supporters as well as Malaysian football enthusiasts for the design of the jersey inspired by the Malaysia Cup winning squad of 1986.
 
Apart from receiving encouraging comments on social media, this retro jersey themed "Legacy Mokhtar Dahari" also got the attention of online sports portals at home and abroad, especially from Indonesia. This is because one of their legendary players, Ristomoyo Kassim is also part of the 1986 squad and scored in the final match.
 
For your information, the jersey that incorporates the Bunga Tanjung (Spanish cherry flower) element as symbolic of the state’s official flower has been sold for 6,000 pieces in less than 48 hours at the Selangor FC online store and at all JOMA distributors.
 
As a result to the overwhelming response, Selangor FC will add another 1,600 new stocks by tomorrow at the SFC’s official website, selangorfc.com for those who did not have the opportunity to buy it during the launch day, while the fans issue edition will enter the market after the Chinese New Year China celebration, somewhere in February this year.

This 2021 SFC home jersey is priced at RM109 for the player edition version and an additional RM45 is charged for the additional customized nameset on the back of the jersey upon request, while Red Giants Team Card 2021 holders will enjoy a 10% discount on the jersey price.
